The entry of 29 clubs from the Eagle Bitter UCL is the league's highest ever representation in the competition.

Sleaford Town and Thrapston Town will be playing in the competition for the first time.

Five clubs have been granted exemption from the Qualifying Rounds. Cogenhoe United and Potton United, who both reached the 4th Round in the 2006-07 competition, enter the fray at the Second Round stage. Premier Division top three Deeping Rangers, Boston Town and Wellingborough Town start in Round One.

Stewarts & Lloyds and Wellingborough Town are both new entries into the competition for 2007-08.

AFC Kempston Rovers have appointed Neil Trebble as their new manager.

The Hitchin born 38 year old played professionally for Scunthorpe United, Preston North End and Scarborough, making 80 Football League appearances and scoring 14 goals. He then joined Stevenage and helped them to the Conference championship in 1995-96 before being part of the Borough team which took Newcastle to a replay in the FA Cup.

On a journey round the home counties non league circuit Trebble also played for St Albans, Welling, Hayes and Molesey. He then had a spell as assistant manager at Arlesey and took charge at Aylesbury United from December 2005 to April 2006.

Clive Black has rejoined Kempston as head coach. He coached at the Rushden & Diamonds academy for four years before first linking up with the Walnut Boys as coach in the summer of 2004. Injuries sustained in a car accident curtailed his involvement during that first season but he returned to co-manage the club with John Leeson in the summer of 2005 before opting to take a break from the game last term.

Steve Damon will manage the Rovers second string on their return to the UCL. He will continue to hold the reins of the club's successful under 18 team and before joining the Walnut Boys he also managed the Bedford Town youth side. 

Wootton have unveiled Tony Tinkler as their new manager.

Tinkler was briefly a Wootton player in the early eighties after having trials for the England schoolboy side. He also had spells with Kempston, Bedford Town, Potton and Ampthill as a player and trialled with a number of professional clubs including Chelsea and Southampton.

The new Wootton boss is a fully qualified coach and in recent years he has scouted for Aston Villa where he had a spell on the coaching staff under Graham Taylor's management.

Martin Hole will assist Tinkler.

Potton United have unveiled their new management team.

Arriving at The Hollow as co-managers are Jim Benton and Dean Chapman. Benton is a former Northampton Town professional who managed Stotfold during the 2005-06 season. Chapman is widely travelled on the non league circuit and had spells with Woodford and Buckingham last term. He is a former Royals player.

Assisting the duo will be Chapman's brother Adam who also had a spell with Potton during his playing career. Former Berks & Bucks under 18 coach Kelvin Ash will be head coach while Pat Booden also joins the Potton coaching staff.

Wootton Blue Cross are again on the lookout for a new manager after John Leeson quit the job after only a couple of weeks at the helm.

The former AFC Kempston Rovers manager, who steered the Walnut Boys to promotion in the 2006-07 season, has now resigned at Weston Park for family reasons. 

Dick Creasey has returned to Holbeach United as co-manager alongside existing player boss Shaun Keeble, who has also assumed a director of football role with the Tigers.

Creasey spent three seasons at the Holbeach helm from 2000 to 2003 and in the final year of his tenure he steered the Tigers to the Premier Division championship, twelve months after they took the runners-up medals.

A move to neighbours Spalding followed and Creasey retained the 'Midas touch' by leading the Tulips to the championship and promotion to the UniBond League.

For the last two and a half years Creasey has been in charge at Wisbech Town in the Ridgeons League, but resigned at the end of the 2006-07 season.

The league's Annual General Meeting was held at St Neots Town FC on 6 June 2007.

Peter Gowans of league sponsors Wells & Young performed a number of presentations, starting with the Manager of the Year trophy awarded to Tuncay Korkmaz of Deeping Rangers.

Fair play awards were collected by Huntingdon Town secretary Russell Yezek and Wellingborough Town 2004 reserve team manager Steve Kirchin, with the top three clubs overall Bourne Town, Cogenhoe United and Woodford United receiving cheques.

The next trophies handed out were the hospitality awards. Bugbrooke St Michaels secretary Sharon Macgowan collected the award for referee markings with St Neots Town match secretary Marion Izzard picking up the award for club marks. Hospitality cheques were distributed to overall top three Cogenhoe United, St Neots Town and Potton United.

Boston Town manager Bob Don-Duncan collected the Baker Perkins Trophy awarded to the club scoring the Highest Aggregate of Goals, while Chris Knowles collected his second award of the Eric Evans Trophy for referee of the year.

Special awards were presented to mark Whitworths' unbeaten 2006-07 season in Division One, secretary John Betts the recipient, and Potton United secretary Bev Strong collected an award to recognise Royals striker Steve Kuhne's 300 goals in UCL football.

Bev was making a return visit to the top table having earlier been awarded the Administrator of the Year trophy which was presented by John Lyon who had donated the trophy to the league.
