DUSTON CLAIM DOUBLE
ROUND UP 19TH. MAY

LEAGUE KO CUP FINAL

Duston United completed a League and Cup double by beating Gorell Barnes Cup winners Birchfield Rovers 2-1 at Cogenhoe United’s ground.
After an even first period of the game substitute Paul Edwards gave Duston the lead on the stroke of half time.
The second half saw Duston quickest out of the traps and the rotund figure of Danny Carter made it 2-0 only four minutes after the kick off with a well placed header. Janan Fifield pulled one back for Birchfield in the closing minutes but it was too little too late for Rovers. Duston’s skipper Luke Jones received the Cup from the Town League Chairman Roy Ainge at the conclusion of the match.

MID-WEEK

DIVISION ONE
On Monday night F.C. Crispin dented Blufish runners-up aspirations as they held out for a goalless stalemate at the Racecourse, which meant the final game of the season Double Four v, Blufish on Wednesday would be the decider for the runners up spot with Double Four needing only to draw but Blufish needing all three points.
Double Four raced into a 3-1 lead courtesy of strikes from Darren Andrew, Nathaniel Liburd and the prolific Darren Poole.
