Football Foundation Grow the Game Scheme

Northamptonshire FA is likely to receive an allocation of approximately 7 grants for the Grow the Game Scheme and to date we have had no applicants so this is a great opportunity to gain funding to develop additional teams.

The aim is to increase participation in grassroots football by supporting the costs associated with providing new activity. For example, funding could be used to develop 2 new under 7 teams by supporting the cost of facility hire, FA coaching courses for volunteers, affiliation or the hire of FA qualified coaches. Applicants can apply for £5000 to develop at least 2 new teams over the next 2 seasons. Projects to start between 1st June and 31st August 2013.

Application timeframe: 5th November – 21st December. Please visit http://www.footballfoundation.org.uk/apply/grow-the-game/ for more information and to apply.

If you require any support please contact me or Kirsty Frior (kirsty.frior@northamptonshirefa.com/ 01604678407).

Looking to become an FA Community Club?

During the next Community Clubs meeting we are inviting those clubs who are Charter Standard Clubs but have ambitions of becoming a Community Club. Details of the steps needed to become a Community Club will be provided and it will also be a chance to meet those clubs who have already gone through the process. The meeting will take place at Moulton FC on Wednesday 16th January 2013 6.30-8.30.

Bob Stretton will be attending who is the Charter Standard Coordinator for Aylestone Park (a Community Club in Leicester). By registering Aylestone Park as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) Bob has managed to raise £10,000’s using Gift Aid funding. He will explain exactly how he has achieved this, which is surprisingly a relatively simple process.

If you like to attend please send me a quick email.

School Club Links

Kathryn is currently doing some work around developing links between clubs and schools. If you have an existing link with a local school, especially for the purpose of recruiting and retaining players, there is a small amount of funding available from the County FA to support this work. Clubs can apply for up to £200 to fund a coach to deliver sessions in a local school with a view to bringing those players into the club. All we require in return is a small amount of data around how many players you have worked with.

If you are interested in accessing £200 to deliver a school club link, or want more information about this, please contact Kathryn on Kathryn.hall@northamptonshirefa.com or 01604 678407.

Premier League Players’ Kit Scheme

The Premier League Players’ Kit Scheme is now open, accepting applications at www.premierleague.com from schools and clubs (u16’s and below). Application window open from Friday 23rd November 2012 to 4th January 2013.
