Printers Scunthorpe & District Football League Monday 20TH April Division One Anthony Metzener scored for New Holland Villa as they lost 10 – 1 to Brumby with Tom Wilson helping himself to six goal, Stephen McCarron scored a brace with Lee Mellows & Craig Shorthose scoring one goal each. Division Two Two goals from Will Watson secured Barnetby United promotion as they beat Ashby RAOB 2 – 0. Wednesday 22ND April Division One Brumby lost 1 – 0 to College Wanderers with Jonathan Robinson being the goal scorer. Division Three Neil Gallafent & Chris Rogers scored for Briggensians as they lost 7 – 2 to Crosby Colts Juniors who won the division three title with this win, thanks to goals from Ben Rumney, Ben Smith, Lee Beacroft, Michael West, Ross Reed, Matthew Fleming & Alex Fenwick. Thursday 23RD April TORTANK BARTON BROTHERHOOD CUP FINAL The Tortank Barton Brotherhood Cup Final turned out to be a very exciting game with a twist in the tail between East Drayton & Scunthonians, two goals from Matthew Mitchell on 25 & 34 minutes gave East Drayton a 2 – 0 lead, Daniel Barker pulled a goal back for Scunthonians in the 42ND minute to leave the score at half time 2 – 1 to East Drayton, a deflected shot from Daniel Hindle off Scunthonians defender James Simpson in the 60TH minute put East Drayton 3 – 1 up, then the goal of the season from East Drayton’s Adam Holdsworth appeared to seal the game at 4 – 1 when he scored from 10 yards in his own half with a shot that lobbed over the keeper (Charlie Adams Style), Craig Clarkson got Scunthonians back in the game on 75 minutes when he scored from the penalty spot to make it 4 – 2, as time ticked away it looked like an East Drayton victory, but Scunthonians had other ideas as Blake Boswell scored in the 89TH minute to make it 4 – 3, then with 93 minutes showing on the clock Neil Fowler scored the equalizer to make it 4 – 4 to take the game into extra time. With no further goals the game went to penalties with Scunthonians winning the penalty shoot-out 5 – 4 the only time in the whole game they were in front to win the Cup. Saturday 25TH April Division One Despite goals from Lee Mellows, Ben Gatti & Chris Holmes Brumby finished the season with a 5 – 3 defeat to Swinefleet Juniors, who leapfrogged them into second place in the table, Cohen Vause & Robbie Tomlinson with a brace of goals each and Niall Barker scoring for Swinefleet Juniors. Division Two Cameron Hill & captain Rick Carter scored the goals for Barnetby United as they beat nearest rivals Broughton Colts 2 – 1 to win the division two title, Shaun Clark scoring for Broughton Colts; Wayne Barley scored for Ashby RAOB to secure third place as they beat East Drayton 1 – 0. Division Three Luke Richardson scored for division three champions Crosby Colts Juniors as they lost 2 – 1 to runners up Westwoodside Rangers, Declan Bacon & Michael Fenlon being there scorers; Lee Hotchin & Mike Henderson scored for Santon as they ended the season with a narrow 3 – 2 defeat to Epworth Town Reserves, Stuart Ritchie with one goal & lee Kirk with a double being Epworth Town Reserves scorers.
