Saturday 30th October 2004
PREMIER DIVISION
In the battle of the top two Duston United eased to a 4-1 victory over Wootton St George to go six points clear at the summit. An Andy Shaw brace plus one-a-piece for Dean Jelley and Carl Parsons accounted for Duston's goals while a lone Gary Shelswell strike was all Wootton could muster in reply. Airflow drew level with Wootton in second place after annihilating A.C.Kingsthorpe 9-0 thanks to hat-tricks for Lee Slater and Leroy Manning plus a double for Dave Garrett and a single for Jay West leaving Kingsthorpe level bottom. The recently transferred Craig McAuley didnt influence Delapre Old Boys much as reigning champions, University College, completed a comfortable 4-0 triumph with Alex Parkinson helping himself to a brace to go with singles from the influential Dan Brown and man of the match Adam Balme. Kingsthorpe Nomads manager, Russ Perry, had a broad smile on his face after his team recorded their first success of the season overcoming Harlequins 3-2. Nomads raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of a double strike from new signing Christopher Naylor. However, Harlequins fought back with goals from Rhyse Coleman and the much traveled Wayne Ventour to level matters before Vince Murphy hit the winner to give Nomads that unfamiliar taste of victory at the fifth attempt.

DIVISION ONE
In a high scoring match Northampton Diamonds defeated Springfield Rangers 9-3. Sean Fowley 2 and Chris Moore netted for Springfield but a treble each for Toby Soybas, Lee Wilkinson and Ashley Pancoust was more than enough to give Diamonds their first points of the campaign and move off the foot of the table.

NORTHANTS F.A LOWER JUNIOR CUP ROUND TWO
Airflow Reserves played host to Ristee Towers and despite goals from Roger Mbarak and Lee Wilson went down by the odd goal in three. Amateurs visited Deanshanger Athletic Reserves and came away with a superb 4-3 victory. Two goals-a-piece from Keiran Rolfe and Alan Whenmouth proved to be decisive against the North Bucks League outfit. A Jason Church strike was as good as it got for Ashley Rovers Reserves as they went out to Heyford Reserves 4-1. Hartwell were only 4-3 down at half-time in their game against Corby Grampion with Ed Reece 2 and Matt Law getting on the score sheet and despite another strike from Lee Chapman eventually Hartwell were completely over-run 12-4. Kingsthorpe Wanderers had a fruitless journey to Ravensthorpe Athletic as they lost 5-0 and Double Four had a walk-over against Peterborough Castor and Alisworth.

SATURDAY 23rd OCTOBER 2004
PREMIER DIVISION
Delapre Old Boys discovered some good form as they recorded their first victory of the season defeating Harlequins 3-0. A Danny Smith double and one for Ant Kirby accounted for Delapre's goals. University College hit Bective Wanderers for six in a 6-1 triumph. Genadijs Kircenkins netted for Bective while College's goals were shared between Dan Brown 2, Mick Anker, Josh West, Alex Parkinson and Neil Hayden. Duston United took advantage of Wootton's cup escapades as they beat bottom dogs Kingsthorpe Nomads 2-0 to go three points clear at the top of the Division. A goal-a-piece for Stuart McDermot and Dean Jelley was enough to leave Nomads pointless.

DIVISION ONE
T.W.S. showed their title aspirations as they eased past Denton 3-0 courtesy of strikes from Jason Driver, Kevin Marston and Ashley Wrighting. Double Four moved up to second spot following their 9-2 demolition of Hartwell. Ace marksman Darren Poole netted a three timer to go with doubles for Grant Minney and Nathaniel Liburd plus singles for Wayne Baptiste and Chris Gale. Hartwell replied with a Dean Purdy brace. Airflow Reserves just edged Ashley Rovers Reserves by the odd goal in five with Dave Garrett, Wayne Bates and Mark Robins all getting on Airflows score sheet, while Dale Fuller and Dave Anderson netted for Rovers. Northampton Diamonds remain in the bottom three after losing 3-0 to Amateurs who had Giuliano Labban, Danny Doble and Mick Jaznic to thank for their tally. Athletico Gardener's match with Springfield Rangers had to be cancelled owing to Springfield being unable to field a team. The match was awarded to Athletico.

NORTHANTS F.A JUNIOR CUP ROUND TWO
In a disastrous day for Town League clubs not one managed to go through to the next round. Missed chances cost A.C.Kingsthorpe dearly as they went out 2-0 to Peterborough Sports. Airflow made the long fruitless journey to Corby Hellenic Fisher where they succumbed 6-1 with a lone Foad Said goal all they could muster. Higham Town beat Ashley Rovers 4-1 with James Feasey hitting Ashleys lone retort. Wootton St George hosted United Counties League high flyers Sileby Rangers and were on the receiving end of an 11-1 thrashing. Wootton started brightly enough and were only 1-0 down after 20 minutes but when the next goal went in the flood gates opened and in the end it was just target practice for the Fernie Field outfit. Gary Shelswell hit Wootton's consolation.

Saturday 16th October 2004
PREMIER DIVISION
In an eight goal thriller League leaders Duston United shared the points with reigning champions University College in a game that was a credit to both sides. Duston raced into a two goal advantage with a goal-a-piece from Scott Chilton and Ben Lovesy but strikes from Dan Brown, Nick Busby, Alex Parkinson and Glen Smith gave College a 4-2 lead before a Nick Kerr effort and a 90th minute equalizer from player boss Brendan Healy leveled matters. The ever improving Wootton St George moved up to share top spot with Duston after getting the better of local rivals Delapre Old Boys 3-1 courtesy of strikes from Mick McInnes, Ben Booker and Mike Ryan leaving Ant Kirby to net Delapre's reply. Ashley Rovers went down to Harlequins 3-2 after leading at one point 2-1. The diminutive Andy Smith and an own goal accounted for Rovers tally while a double from Glen Moore plus an own goal gave Harlequins their first success of the season. The all Kingsthorpe derby between Kingsthorpe Nomads and A.C.Kingsthorpe saw Steve Brown hit the target for Nomads but a well taken hat-trick for player-manager Darryl Rate and a solo effort from Paul Wood ensured a 4-1 triumph to A.C.Kingsthorpe.

DIVISION ONE
Athletico Gardeners maintained their three points cushion at the summit following a narrow 1-0 win over Amateur's with Andy Wimpress grabbing the all important goal. Second placed Denton, who are hot on the heels of Athletico, deflated Double Four's title aspirations with a 1-0 success courtesy of a single strike from Matt Roberts. TWS just got the better of Kingsthorpe Wanderers by the odd goal in three to keeep their 100% record intact. Jon Caeser and Steve Marson were on target for TWS, while a Mick Grindley single was Wanderers lone retort. Bottom markers Springfield Rangers remain pointless as they lost out to Airflow Reserves 5-1. Airflow stalwart Nick Broadbent hit a three timer to go with solos from Like Dickens and Darryll Wilson. John Regan netted for the hapless Springfield. A Jon Freeman treble was instrumental in Ashley Rovers Reserves 6-2 canter against Hartwell whose two strikes came via Steve Lish and Matt Lawson. Further Rovers goals from Richard Tweed, Jason Church and the influential Och Dulo completed a comfortable victory.
