Irish scored first in the tenth minutes, a Dave Cathling cross from the left hand side for Ben Fitzsimmons to head home past the Christians Keeper Ian Cooper. Christians equalized in the 20th minutes from the penalty, Christians Jamie Nolan was fouled by the Irish defender Shane O?Donnell. Christians Leigh Reynolds converted the penalty. Irish keeper Aaron Dengel made a save from Christians Kevin Dooley. Half-time 1-1. Irish took the lead in the 51st minutes from a Ben Fitzsimmons corner, which found the head of Richard Peake whose header was powered into the back of the net past keeper Ian Cooper. In the 56th Christians were on level terms again, a cross from the right hand side from Kevin Dooley for Leigh Reynolds to head home past keeper Aaron Dengel. Christians scored their 3rd goal in the 97th minutes Adam Oliver shot from inside the box which beat the diving keeper Aaron Dengel. An Irish Kevin McQuillen 25 yard shot was pushed away for a corner by keeper Ian Cooper. In the 114th minutes Christians sub Ben Henry made the score 4-2 with a volley from the edge of the box, after a long kick from Keeper Ian Cooper. Christians Ben Henry was the provider for the fifth goal in the 126th minutes, a cross from the right hand side for Adam Oliver to shoot from the close range past Keeper Aaron Dengel. Irish keeper Aaron Dengel saved from Jamie Macdonald. Admiral scored the first goal, when a cross from Anthony Campbell was pulled back by Gary Rogers for Captain Rob Maclaren to head home from six yards. Irish Hayden Dean shot wide. 1-0 at half-time. Rob Maclaren scored his second goal with a shot from the edge of the box past keeper Aaron Dengel, after a flick on from Pat O?Gorman. Ben Fitzsimmons free-kick from 25 yards was tipped over the bar by the Admiral keeper Barry Davies. Irish Dwayne Grant header wide. Rob Maclaren completed his hat-rick, when his shot was parried into the net by Keeper Aaron Dengel. Irish Shane O?Donnell had the ball in the net, but disallowed for off-side. Bedfordshire County Inter-League Centenary Cup Final, Played at Shillington FC
Luton District & South Beds Football League V Bedfordshire County Reserve League
Luton District & South Beds Football League's representive side beat Bedfordshire County Reserve League representive side 4-2 to win their first-ever Inter-League Centenary County Cup Final. Luton League side scored the opening goal through Gary Rogers, when a pass through the middle by Jamie Macdonald on to Pat O'Gorman whose flick on to Gary Rogers who lobbed the County Reserve keeper Stephen Everitt. 1-0 Luton League. Luton League side scored their second goal, when Centre-half Anthony Campbell long run from defence then crossing the ball over from the left-side for Gary Rogers to shoot from close range to score his second goal of the match. 2-0 Luton league. Luton League side scored their third goal, when Jamie Macdonald was left unmarked; whose 35 yards long drive shot gave Keeper Stephen Everett no chance. 3-0 at half-time. Bedfordshire County reserves side pulled one goal back, when a Ricky Howe corner was headed home by Leigh Welch past keeper Jimmy Bolton. 3-1 Luton League. Bedfordshire County reserves side scored again, a close range shot from Adrian Turner beat the diving Jimmy Bolton. 3-2 Luton League. Luton League side scored their fourth goal, this time Gary Rogers was the provider, crossing the ball from the right for Captain Rob Maclarn whose running in header from 6 yards found the back of net past keeper Stephen Everitt. Luton League side defence marshalled by Anthony Campbell held on to the end to win their first-ever Inter-League Centenary County Cup Final 4-2. Jamie Macdonald was man of the match, who covered every inch of the pitch who never stopped running.

Hansome Cab scored the opening goal in the 8th minutes, a close range shot from Sam Elliott past United keeper Ian Taylor. Cab were the better side in the first-half, but did not take their chances. Cabs Andrew Curran 30 yards shot was tipped over the bar by keeper Taylor. Cabs Sam Elliott who beat keeper Taylor with an open goal at his mercy & only to see his shot just going wide of the post. Cabs Adam Baxter also shot wide. United Captain David Frazer shot hit the side netting. United equalized in the 37th minutes through Austin Melia when his carling shot from 30 yards went into the right side corner of the net giving Cabs keeper Gary King no chance to save. 1-1 at half-time. United came more into the match in the second-half. Ben Harris shot wide for United. United took the lead in the 52nd minutes, when a corner from Captain David Frazer found the head of Austin Melia whose powerful header went past Gary King. In the 54th minutes United increased their lead to 3-1, this time Austin Melia flick on for Joe Walshe who buried the ball into the net past keeper Gary King. Cabs Richard Forsey hit the post from two yards & then United centre-half Ross Waller made the clearance off the goal-line. In the 77th mintues Austin Melia completed his hat-rick, when one on one with keeper King to chip over his head to make the score. 4-1 to United. George Hyde shot wide for Cabs. Austin Melia man of the match with all-round performance. Bedfordshire County & Luton League Committee member Tony Bullman was presented to the both teams & match officials by another Luton League Committee Danny Caswell before the match.

In the first-half the match was evenly poised; both teams had chances in the opening 39 minutes, but neither could break the deadlock. Christians Paul Wears 25 yards shot rattled the side netting extension. Admiral Danny Fitzgerald had his shot saved by the Christians keeper Pete Fraser. Christians Adam Ahmed 30 yards shot was pushed away for a corner by the Admiral keeper Vishal Desai. Christians Mike Milner shot went wide. Admiral broke the deadlock in the 40th minutes through Dave Moore whose shot went past the diving Pete Fraser, after a mix-up between Captain Tim Morris & keeper Fraser. Paul Johnson shot went wide for Admiral. Christians trailed by just one goal at the break. The second-half was more livelier. Admiral took their foot off the pedal in the second-half, which allowed Christians back in the game. Christians who had about half dozen corners in the secon-half. Pete Fraser saved a shot from Admirals Mark Houghton. In the 57th minutes Admiral scored their second goal, after Michael Lawal was sent clear down the right-hand side & centred for Captain Phil Newbery whose powerful shot from the edge of the box beat keeper Pete Fraser. Admiral lead 2-0, but Christians kept attacking & going forward on numerous occasions. Christians Mark Slough hit the Admiral crossbar with his shot. Carl Swendell shot went wide for Admiral. Danny Fitzgerald shot went wide for Admiral. Christians Neal Casley had his shot saved by Keeper Vishal Desai. Danny Fitzgerald shot saved by Pete Fraser. Vishal Desai pushed away a shot from Christians Mike Milner for a corner. In the 71st minutes Christians scored their first goal, after a corner from Adam Ahmed was tapped-in by the unmarked Mark Slough from 2 yards with the keeper Vishal Desai left stranded. 2-1 to Admiral. Christians Simon Cooke made a clearance off the line from Captain Phil Newberys shot. Admiral Danny Fitzgerald shot went wide. Christians Mike Milner free-kick went wide. Christians Neal Casley shot went wide. In the 80th minutes Christians equalized when, Adam Ahmed shot hit the crossbar & Mark Slough tapped home from the rebound past keeper Vishal Desai. 2-2. Admiral replied back within a minute through Captain Phil Newberys a 25 yards free-kick with keeper Pete Fraser no chance of stopping the shot. Christians Ryan Douglas had his shot saved by Vishal Desai. Admirals win 3-2 a close fought battle at the end, a joy to watch in the second-half, good advert for football.
