Down Memory Lane |
The Down Memory Lane photograph depicts the Belvedere team whose excellent playing and disciplinary record in October 1993 resulted in Roy Dwight (the ex Nottingham Forest star) receiving Belvedere F.C's first ever Western Section Manager of the Month award. For older enthusiasts Roy Dwight (pictured far left - back row) scored for Forest in their 2-1 win against Luton Town in the 78th FA Cup Final on 2nd May 1959 that was played in front of 100,000 fans at the 'old' Wembley Stadium. On 1st December 2007 Darren Langston, who also appears in the photograph being captain of Roy's team that year, emulated Roy when he added to Belvedere F.C's collection of such awards by winning the Western Section Manager of Month for November 2007. |

MANAGER OF THE MONTH- March 2008 |
A landmark was reached on Saturday 5th April when the Kent County Leagues' presented its 350th Manager of the Month Award.
The League Chairman, Cyril Windiate, presented the Western Section award for March to Shaun Keddle, of Division 2 side Farnborough Old Boys Guild, prior to his teams victory at Wickham Park.
On Saturday 12th April the Premier Division award was presented by the League Chairman to Mark Edwards, of Cray Valley (PM) FC, prior to his teams fixture at Orpington. Despite being no stranger to these awards this was Marks' first success this season and he received an alarm clock/calculator on an inscribed base.
We are also pleased to announce that the Eastern award was won by Freddie Newman, of University of Kent Reserves, making it a hat-trick of wins for him this season. His presentation will be made internally by the club at a later date. This being his 3rd award Freddie will receive an inscribed leather Managers folder.
Farnborough Old Boys, Cray Valley and University of Kent all an excellent disciplinary record for March which is a pre-requisite for these awards.
The British Energy Kent County League would like to extend their gratitude to Aford Awards of Bearsted for their continuous and long standing sponsorship of these prestigious awards. |
