CROCKENHILL FC |
I am writing on behalf of Crockenhill FC to ask for your support, via the official Kent County League website in our planning application for the installation of floodlights at our Wested Meadow ground. We have approached a firm of Planning Consultants in order to tackle the application correctly, and have provided them with a full specification from a specialist floodlight installation company. We have given them evidence in support of our application including details of other floodlit grounds in similar situations to ours. In the summer we were given retrospective permission to continue using training lights which have been at the ground for over fifteen years, a decision which we hope defeats many arguments against lights being used in the Green Belt. They have suggested that our case would be enhanced by the gathering of letters of support from a range of people. We hope that you would wish to add your voice to our bid. We have worked tirelessly in recent years and suggest that some of the points below could be included in any letter of support. we were members of the Kent League from 1968 until 1998, and were Champions in 1982/3 we accepted the need to drop down to the Kent County League due to lack of floodlights in 1998, the only club to do so in recent years after initial difficulties, including relegation to the Division 1 West, we have bounced back to win that Division and then the Premier Division in 2003/4 other than floodlighting our ground fully complies with Kent League ground grading requirements ,BR> in recent years ground improvements have continued with the hard work and dedication of a good committee; the atmosphere at the ground is always popular with visiting spectators we have maintained our Senior status, have an Under 18 team which are top of their league in the Kent Youth League, and have recently been awarded FA Charter Club status we operate in an area once well provided-for with Senior clubs, but in which six clubs have moved, folded or lost their status in recent year I hope you will be willing to write a letter addressed to our Planning Consultant, Mr F Robinson, at Warren Court, Knockholt Road, Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent TN14 7ER Many thanks in anticipation, Yours sincerely, Mike Floate |
