Fair Play awards |
Fairplay is an important part of Charter Standards so the League Management Committee have decided that we will, for this season 2012-13 , fund £600 per year to a fair play awards scheme. The scheme will be open to all full member clubs and will operate as follows:
PENALTIES
1. 1 point will be recorded against a club for every yellow card that a player from that club receives.
2. 3 points will be recorded against a club for every red card that a player from that club receives.
3. 10 points will be recorded against a club, who, in the opinion of the management committee, have caused a game to be abandoned.
THE AWARDS
1. The season will be divided into 3 parts - August, September and October - November, December and January - February, March and April.
2. Each part of the season, the club from North and the club from the South Division receiving the least penalty points, will receive the sum of £100.
3. If there is a tie for the award then the money will be split equally between the tying clubs.
4. The penalty points will be proportionate to the number of games played by a club in each qualifying period.
August September October = North Clay Cross FC South Hucknall Town AFC FC
November December January = North Dronfield Town FC South Blidworth Welfare FC
February March April = North Bentley Colliery FC South Hucknall Town AFC
Very well done to all teams including the award winners

Round Up |
CENTRAL MIDLANDS LEAGUE REVIEW FOR MAY 4TH Dronfield Town are a point away from the championship of the Black Dragon Badges North division after their 3-0 win at Brodsworth Welfare. Two goals from Ritchie Marples and one for Ade Ashton means that a draw in their final match against Easington United next Saturday will ensure that they finish in the promotion spot. Clay Cross Town and Harworth Colliery shared the points in a one all draw, both clubs will finish in the top five. In an even contest, Luke Beatson’s early goal for Clay Cross was equalised on the stroke of half time by Harworth’s Matt Smith. In the other game in this section, Phoenix won 4- 2 at Bentley Colliery. The home side led at the break with two goals from Chris Freeman, but Phoenix rallied in the second half, their goals coming from Andy Garlick (2), Sam Hadfield and Steve Spence. Things are not so clear cut in the Black Dragon Badges South division. Current leaders Pinxton just managed to beat bottom side Blidworth Welfare, a single goal from Jay Cooper all that separated the sides. That completes Pinxton’s fixtures, all they can do now is look over their shoulders at Sutton Town, who are ten points behind them, but have five games to play. Sutton turned up the heat with a 6-3 win at Hucknall Town. Goalscorers here were Garry Atkins and Craig Mitchell with two each, Chris Rhodes and Gavin Short for the Snipes, Joe Lomax (2) and Tom Crisp for Hucknall. Bilborough Pelican won 4-2 at South Normanton to remain in second place, Tim Cullinan scoring twice, Jordan Prance and Joseph Byrne also on target for Pelican, while Carey Knight and Martin Lench claimed the goals for the Shiners. Belper United picked up maximum points at home to Nottingham United their 2-0 victory coming through goals from Luke Crosby and Kyle Wadsworth. Southwell City came out on top against Linby Colliery, a goal by Ben Smith enough to see the Minstermen home. There were just two games in the Reserve Supreme division, and Dronfield Town leapfrogged Staveley into second place with an 8-1 drubbing of Holbrook Sports. Scott Austin led the way with a hat trick, Charles Bradwell added two and there was one apiece for Jonny Pugh, Sam Fisher and Mitch Clarke. Holbrook's consolation came from Immanuel Freeman. Staveley Miners Welfare could only draw at Borrowash Victoria, meaning both they and Dronfield are four points adrift of leaders Dunkirk. Shay Wiggins scored for Vics, Lee Naughton replying for the visitors. Only one game survived in the CU Phosco Lighting Reserve Premier division, Harworth Colliery beating Sherwood Colliery by two goals to one, Kyle Pashley and Chris Leather the Harworth scorers. This will be the final review for this season, hopefully the sun will shine on Devon for the next couple of weeks !!. Hope to be with you all again next season. Richard Lane mks 4/5/13 |
