Friday 2nd Sat 3rd Mon 6th

Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd, Monday 5th April

Who is going to win Division One?  Eastcliff seemed to the strolling it but came unstuck against Colchester Athletic losing 1-0 to a Ryan Higgleton hit.  Oyster were very happy with that as they grabbed all 3 points on offer beating Wimpole 2000 Reserves 2-0 with goals from Connor Eden and Martin Hastings.  AFC Informa beat AXA 2-1 and FC Clacton Reserves managed to win 6-5 against Feering United.

Saturday 27th March

REPORT FOR SATURDAY 27TH MARCH

A goal apiece for James Partner, Graham Gilles and Nathian English was enough to put Colchester Athletic through to the next round of the League Knock Out Cup when they deposed of FC Clacton Reserves 3-0.  Belle Vue Social put paid to any hopes of a cup run for New Field when they won 4-2 . Scorers here were Chris Daniels, Dan Gasson-Davies, Ben Murphy and James Varty.

In the Premier Colne Engaine went back to the top beating Cinque Port 2-0 with Jimmy Owens and Stephen King getting the very important goals as Harwich and Parkeston A and University of Essex 3rd’s could only manage a 0-0 draw.  Priory Ravens and Colchester Hotspurs had an end of season 1-1 draw.  Harwich Rangers nearly got their first point but Wimpole 2000 showed no mercy beating them 4-3.

Oyster kept up the pressure on Eastcliff by beating AFC Informa 7-2.  Two apiece for Connor Eden and  Martin Hastings keep Oyster in the hunt for the title.  University of Essex 4th’s started with 10 and went down to 9 through injury and lost 4-3 to Stoke by Nayland.  Not their day. Luke Cowan hit 2 with Liam Tydeman and an own goal (the winner) being the hit men.

In Division Two Boxford Rovers are the first team to take a league title this season as their 6-1 win over University of Essex 5th’s was enough to take the trophy.  Well done to them. Another hatrick for Tim Kerr and one each for Ben Dixon, Matt Silver and Luke Waugh doing the damage.  Brantham Athletic A kept up their challenge for 2nd place beating Clacton United Reserves 3-1.  Two here for Josh Mann and one for Shaun Webb. Finally Division Three Witchfinders, with a Ash Feaviour hatrick, cemented their place at the top beating Sporting Rebels 4-1.  Kelvedon Social beat Marks Tey 4-2 with two goals from Tom Stone and one each for Ross Catchpole and James Miller.  Dellows beat Tey FC 4-2 whilst Langham Lodgers and Lexden Allstars saw out a 2-2 draw.

Saturday 20th March 2010

REPORT SATURDAY 20th MARCH 2010

No cup surprises this week.  A goal apiece for Sam Ellicott and Stuart Griffiths was enough for Nayland to progress to the next round beating Brantham Athletic A 2-1.  Prior Ravens beat Premier colleagues Colchester Hotspurs 4-1.  2 for Craig  Serafin and one each for Richard Beet and Jay Rider did the damage.  Colne Engaine got taken to extra time against AFC Informa before coming out 2-0 winners and Witchfinders put three past Feering with one in reply.  Ash Feaviour, Lee Gregory and    Luke Randall the ‘witches’ on target.

In the Premier Division University of Essex 3rd XI went to the top of the table beating rivals Harwich and Parkeston A 2-0.  Francis Okolie and Steve Stratford getting the all important goals.  Harwich Rangers just cannot seem to win these days and Cinque Port took all three points beating them 4-2.  Wimpole 2000 beat Castle 1-0 with a Gary Hunnable goal.

Ross Nash hit 5 for Eastcliff in the 6-0 dubbing of FC Clacton Reserves.  Oyster kept the pressure up when beating  AXA 4-2. Two here for Alex Washington. Colchester Athletic could have a say where the winners trophy goes as they have to play Eastcliff.  A Mike Hine hatrick was not enough for University of Essex 4th to get anything out of the game against Athletic as James Partner hit 4 in the 6-4 win.   Stoke by Nayland beat Wimpole 2000 1-0.

Whilst Boxford had a free day Clacton Utd Reserves threw away a couple of points when they could only draw with University of Essex 5th 0-0.  New Field had a close 2-1 win over Great Bentley A.  One apiece for Craig Barker and Lewis Robertson grabbing all three points for them.

New Field beat University 5th XI 2-0 in division three whilst Great Bentley A kept up their good form of late beating Nayland Rangers 4-3 in a very close game

Finally Division Three is going to go right to the wire as Witchfinders and Belle Vue Social both won the keep the ‘finders’ one point clear but both on 14 games.  Witchfinders had a very lucky 2-1 win over University 6th whilst Belle Vue also struggled only beating Stoke by Nayland Reserves 1-2.  Finally Dellows beat Lexden Allstars 4-2.

Saturday 6th March

Report Saturday 6th March

It was a weekend of penalty kicks in the cup games.  First Colchester Athletic held Tollesbury to a 3-3 draw after extra time to goals from, man of the match, John Nevins, James Partner and Callum Bartlett. Then they beat them 6-5 on penalties to put them into the next round of the League Knock Out Cup where they face FC Clacton Reserves.

In the Great Bromley Cup Quarter Final there was a couple of shocks.  Belle Vue Social Club of  Division Four beat Premier frontrunners on penalties after finishing off extra time at 2-2.  Then Div Four Witchfinders beat Div One Oyster 3-2 after extra time.  Kevin Brown, Luke Randall and Levi Townes-New getting all the important goals.  Harwich and Parkeston A, fresh from their Amos Cup win over Eastcliff on Thursday where goals from Dan Goff and Sonny Cooper-Sutton gave them a 2-1 win and the trophy after extra time, looked to have the easiest of games but battling Marks Tey took them all the way losing 3-2. 2 from Adam Double and one for Jason Law were the goalscorers for Harwich and Kieron Bloomfield and Jake Westerman grabbed the 2 for Marks Tey.

In the Lexden Memorial Cup Quater Final Dellows overcame Sporting Rebels 3-2.

  SATURDAY 27TH FEBRUARY

At last Colne Engaine and Wimpole 2000 played their 2nd round Great Bromley Cup game and Colne Engaine came out 3-0 winners. Two for Matt Brown and one for Steve King the goal scorers

Harwich and Parkeston A seem to be the team at the moment, as they warmed up for their Amos Cup Final on Thursday evening, to beat but Tollesbury could not do that at they lost 3-0 to goals from Chris Hyde, Jason Law and Craig Martin.  University of Essex 3rd XI keep up the challenge.  Leading 3-0 at halftime they just managed to get all 3 points in a 3-2 win over Cinque Port.  Ray Catchpole, Mike Hine and an own goal the hero’s.  Priory Ravens got back to winning ways as Richard Beet and Dan Finlay got the goals in a 2-0 win over Harwich Rangers.

Stoke by Nayland had a good result against Colchester Athletic getting all 3 points in a 1-0 win.  Darren May getting the only goal.  Speaking to the Col. Athletic manager the game could have gone either way but no complaints in the end. Ian Macleod gave a man of the match performance at the back of the Stoke keeping the Athletic forwards at bay. Wimpole 2000 Reserves overcame AXA 4-3 in the only other game in the Division. Gary Hunnable grabbing a hatrick for the ‘poles’

Saturday 20th February

Saturday 20th February 2010

Only one game in the League Knock Out 2nd round which saw Dellows overcome Langham Lodgers 2-1 with one each for Joshua   Ali and Markel Greenidge.

With Colne Engaine having a weather layoff this weekend in the Premier Harwich and Parkeston A won the local derby game against Harwich Rangers 3-0 and put themselves 2 points behind leaders Colne with 2 games in hand. Sonny Cooper-Sutton hit a brace with Alan Double getting the other.  Priory Ravens seem to have thrown away any chances of a title this season as a goal apiece for Lee Fox, Ian Gill, Warren Slack and Wayne Smith had Castle beating them 4-0.  Tollesbury and Cinque Port had a tough 1-1 encounter down at Regent Road. University of Essex 3rd still have an eye on honours as they beat Hotspurs in a 2-0 win. Steve Box still turning out for the ‘Spurs’

Eastcliff reign supreme in Division One and this week continued their winning run when putting 3 pasted AXA without reply.  Scott Colwill, Jonjo Connors and Alex Davies the goal scorers.  Oyster and University 4th XI played out a 2 v 3 in the table and Oyster came out on top winning 2-1 in a very entertaining game.  John Green and Wayne Groves the Oyster scorers with Nick Paisley replying for the Uni boys.  Stoke by Nayland continue to gather points and gained another 3 this weekend in a 3-2 win over Colchester Athletic.  2 from Luke Cowan and one for James Gildeson enough for the points.  Feering and Wimpole 2000 Reserves shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

In Division Two Yes Boxford Rovers won again.  This time they put 5 pasted Great Bentley A in a 5-1 win over on the Bentley Green.  Abbey Fields continue their scoring epics hitting, luckless, Lexden Rovers for six in 6-0 win.  Danny Omuoreh could only manage 1 this week, John Vitelli with a hatrick and one each for Charles Martin and Witek Gruszynski were enough on the day.  Nayland Rangers gave the Uni 5th a lesson in finishing as they won 5-1.  Two each for Sam Ellicott and Dumitru Tomoroga and an own goal enough.  Brantham Athletic A had a comfortable win over New Field coming out on top in a 4-1 win.  Two here for Alex Stocker and one each for Joe Graffham and Josh Mann.

In Division Three a resounding 6-4 win over Lexden Allstars put Witchfinders 2 points behind leaders Belle Vue Social with a game in hand.   A hatrick from Ashley Feaviour and 2 for Lee Gregory and not forgetting Kevin Brown solo effort gave them the 3 points.  Belle Vue Social had a 4-2 win over Tey FC with Ben Murphy, Oliver Patrick, Carl Saville and Karl Stalley getting the all important goals to keep them on the top of the pile.  Sporting Rebels made easy work of beating Marks Tey 5-0.  Two here for Jon Dowsett. Finally Stoke by Nayland Reserves kept up their good form again this weekend getting a 2-2 draw with Kelvedon Social who scored in the last minute with a penalty.  Roger Day and Kieran Smith for Stoke and Ross Catchpole and Tony Windard for Kelvedon the goal scorers.

Amos Cup Final: Harwich and Parkeston A v Eastcliff at Stanway Rovers FC kick off 7pm on Thursday 4th March.

Saturday 13th February

 Saturday 13th February

Top of the pile Colne Engaine dropped 3 important points against University of Essex 3rd Xi as they lost 3-0. Bobo Ajudua, Ryan Davies and Tom Green scoring the all important Uni goals.  That win puts them on the heels of Colne Engaine and Harwich and Parkeston A who had a single goal win over Wimpole 2000. A Martin Jennings goal was enough for the 3 points.  Tollesbury gained sweet revenge after being thumped 5-0 at home by Hotspurs at Christmas. They were in the lead after five minutes when Jamie Bright scored but before half time the home side were well on top, leading 2-1.  It was all Tollesbury in the second half and two goals from one of three substitutes Sam Rollo, his second in the last minute  a brilliant effort, that secured the points. Priory Ravens saw out a 1-1 draw with Cinque Port.

Eastcliff seem to be winning the title without playing.  Feering could not raise a side this weekend which, should, give Eastcliff the 3 points. University of Essex 4th are making a big challenge as they tore AFC Informa apart winning 6-0. A goal each for David Bailey, Michael Dean, Pranas Milkus, Nick Paisley, Mike Tracey and Jack Wade doing the damage.  Oyster keep up their challenge aswell beating Brigthlingsea Regent A 2-1.  Connor Eden and Alex Washington the goal scorers.  Wimpole 2000 Reserves had a 1-1 draw with Colchester Athletic where goalkeeper, Dean Chitty, was man of the match keeping the Wimpole forwards at bay with some superb saves. Stoke by Nayland had a very good win over AXA when beating them 3-1.  Luke Cowan scored twice with James Gildeson getting the 3rd.

In Division Two it has to be said Boxford Rovers won again. 2 apiece for Tim Kerr and James Kossick with one for Richard Kossick were enough for all three points in their 5-0 thumping of New Field.  Abbey Fields are trying their hardest to get in the plus section of goals for and against as they put 8 passed Nayland in a thrilling end to end 8-5 game.  Danny Omuoreh hit 4 with Jamie Kemble netting 2.  Dumitru Tomoroga got a hatrick for Nayland.  Clacton United Reserves found some form at last and got all 3 points in a 3-0 win over University of Essex 5th. One each for Ashley Boyce, Ben McKinley and Lacina Sylla enough.

Division Three looks like it is going to be a very tight finish.  At the top Witchfinders came out on top of Belle Vue Social winning 2-1 going 2 points behind with a game in hand.  Lee Gregory looks like he has found his goal scoring boots again as he hit both for Witchfinders.  Dellows slipped up when losing 2-0 to Stoke by Nayland Reserves making it a great weekend for the Stoke club. Cannot remember a Saturday when both sides won.  Well done boys. John Baker and Roger Day making it a sad day for the Dellows boys.  Lexden Allstars are 5 points behind the leaders but they have 3 games in hand as they beat Marks Tey 3-1.  Tey FC hit the luckless Langham Lodgers for 7 running out 7-2 winners. Finally Kelvedon Social and Sporting Rebels had a mid table clash with the Kelvedon boys winning 2-1.

Saturday 6th Feb

Saturday 6th February

A full week at last.  Not one game lost to the weather.  Is this the end of that white stuff???

Only a couple of cup games this week and New Field, present holders, fell at the Quarter Final stages losing to Great Bentley A 2-0. A goal apiece from Ryan Carter and Mykhael Martin enough to put the Bentley boys into the semi finals.  Witchfinders beat Marks Tey 4-1 in the only other game played today. Ashley Feaviour, Clinton Maskell, Luke Randall and Jamie Reddick getting the all important goals.

In the Premier present 2nd place Harwich and Parkeston A had a very close encounter with lowly Cinque Port only scrapping through thanks to a Gavin Race goal in the 1-0 win. Whereas top team Colne Engaine had an easier passage putting 5 pasted Castle who could only manage the one single goal. A hatrick here for Steve King and 2 for Rowan Farrow.  University of Essex 3rd kept up their faint hope of honours with a 1-0 win over Tollesbury.  A single goal form Dan Azeez enough.  Priory Ravens and Wimpole 2000 fought out a mid table battle with both side only claiming a point each in a 1-1 draw.  Gary Hunnable for Wimpole and Jay Rider for Priory the goal scorers.  This result not helping Priory’s hopes for honours.

In Division One a couple of goals for, man of the match, James Partner was enough for Colchester Athletic to secure all 3 points against AXA where the score ended 2-0. Eastcliff remain top of the pile with a 4-2 win over AFC Informa.  Two for Scott Colwill and one each for Jonjo Connors and Damon Russell getting the all important goals.  University of Essex 4th XI are going to keep it going to the wire as they struggled to get all 3 points against a determined Feering with a very close 2-1.  Nick Paisley got 2, one with a glorious header from a corner, and Pranas Milkus the other.  Ray Catchpole will be shooting himself after a dreadful afternoon in front of goal missing 3 sitters.  A very good performance from Rob Tanner in the midfield kept the University at bay. Oyster still hold hopes of catching Eastcliff for the top honours as they scrapped a 1-0 win over Stoke by Nayland.  Wimpole 2000 Reserves hit lack lustre FC Clacton Reserves for 5 in a 5-1 win.  2 here for both Craig Hallas and Lloyd Parker-Wilson with a single goal for Rob Miller.

Division Two had a top of the table clash between Brantham Athletic A and Boxford Rovers.  The Rovers coming out on top 1-0 with a goal from James Kossick.  Who is going to be the first to take a point from the Rovers this season or is nobody going to.  Clacton United Reserves found abit of form as they beat Nayland 7-2 with Ashley Boyce and Lacina Sylla getting two each with Marty Cameron, Paul Crouch and Ben McKinley helping themselves to one each.  Game of the Division to have watched must have been University 5th v Abbey Fields where the score ended 5-5.  A hatrick from Danny Omuoreh and 2 for Charlie Martin helped Abbey gain an important point.

Finally Division Three had Belle Vue Social keeping the top spot when beating, title chasers, Lexden Allstars by the single goal in a 1-0 win. Carl Saville the hero for them.  Dellows let points slip as they could only draw 3-3 with Langham Lodgers.  A  Guy Murton hatrick just not good enough as 2 from Calvin Firkins and one for Nick Ellen were enough for that precious point for Langham.  Sporting Rebels kept their eye on the top as they grabbed 3 points in a 3-1 win over University 6th.  Martin Joy, continuing his scoring epics of late, scored 2 with one from Jon Dowsett.  And finallyTey FC beat Stoke by Nayland Reserves 2-1.

News on the Amos Cup Final.  This is now on Thursday 4th March at Stanway Rovers FC kick off 7pm.  Nothing on the TV so make a big effort to afford the game a really good crowd.

Saturday 23rd Jan

It was the third round of the Great Bromley Cup this weekend and the only one big surprise was the defeat of Premier Cinque Port 2-1 to Third Division Marks Tey. Kieron Bloomfield and Stuart Parker the hero’s. Third Division Belle Vue Social had a very good 5 – 2 win over Div One AFC Informa.  A hatrick here for Karl Staley and one each for Ben Ratclife and Ben Murphy.  Priory Ravens beat Boxford Rovers 3-0 thanks to goals from Dan FInaly 2 and Andy Reed.  Wimpole 2000 won the Premier battle with Colchester Hotspurs 3-2.  Jason Boyes, Sam Dunt and Gary Hunnable grabbing their 3 goals.  Colne Engaine brushed New Field aside winning 5-1.  Steve King 2, Tom Owen 2 and one for Paul Blackwell scoring for the Engines. Witchfinders won the Div 3 battle with Langham Lodgers in a very close fought game 3-2.  Witchfinders saviours were Kevin Brown, Ashley Faviour and Lee Gregory.  Two for Calvin Firkins was just not enough.  Oyster won 2-1 against Clacton United Reserves when John Green and Wayne Groves scored one apiece. Finally Harwich & Parkeston A struggled against Div Three Sporting Rebels before coming out as 5-4 winners.  2 for Alan Double, one each for Chris Hyde , Sonny Cooper-Sutton and  an own goal were just enough. The Joy boys, Martin and Adam grabbed 2 each for the luckless Rebels.

Harwich Rangers nearly got a point against Castle but 2 from Warren Slack and one each for Andy Gibb, Wayne Smith and Richard Thomas were enough to take all 3 points in a 5-3 defeat.  Tollesbury and University of Essex 3rd XI fought out a tough 3-2 win for Uni.  Tollesbury paid the price for missed chances in this close contest. Sam Rollo and Justin Linton scored second half goals for the home side but two from Bobo Ajudua and one from Nick Smith were enough for all 3 points for Uni

 Saturday 12th December

Our interest in the Essex Junior Cup disintegrated as Wimpole 2000 lost to Steeple Bumpstead 4-1.  In the Junior Trophy Oyster and Lexden Allstars keep our flag flying.   Lexden had a walkover as their opponents could not raise a side but Oyster had to Beat Bradwell United Reserves and did so 3-1.

Colne Engaine and Priory Ravens played out a top of the table clash with Colne Engaine coming out winners 4-1 thanks to two goals from Tom Owen and one each for Rowan Farrow and Jim Owen.  Cinque Port grabbed all three points against Colchester Hotspurs in a very close game. Chris Gallagher and Mark Rieksts the goals scorers for Cinque Port.  Harwich and Parkeston A kept up their challenge for the top beating Tollesbury 3-2. Two for Sonny Cooper-Sutton and one for Craig Martin being enough for all 3 points.  University of Essex 3rd XI took the glory against a battling Harwich Rangers winning 4-0. Bobo Ajudua, Nick Smith, Jack Wade and Keith Wilcox.

University of Essex 4th XI were the only club to get 3 points in Division One when beating AXA 2-1. Mike Tracey and Cillian Griggs doing the damage.  Brightlingsea Regent A and Stoke by Nayland saw out a tame 1-1 draw.  Atleast FC Clacton Reserves and AFC Informa had some goals in their 2-2 draw.

Division Two had Abbey Field v Clacton United Reserves abandoned after 40 minutes when Michael Bond broken his leg.  From all the league officials and clubs we wish him a speedy recovery.  Boxford Rovers continue to rule the roost, this time putting 3 past New Field without reply.  Tim Kerr, James Kossick and Ben Patrick the hero’s.  Great Bentley A had two goals from Matthew Coppin to be thankfull for their 3-2 victory over University of Essex 5th XI. Colchester and East Essex Football League

It was Amos Cup semi final day today and there was nearly a surprise.  New Field, from div two, took Eastcliff, div one unbeaten leaders, all the way to penalties.  Leading 2-0 they let Eastcliff back in to make it 2-2, then went ahead 4-2 but Eastcliff equalised with 5 minutes to go to take the game into extra time.  Neither side could score in this period although New Field had a couple of one to one chances that they missed before Eastcliff won the penalty shoot out thanks to two great saves from John Patrick. Scorers for Eastcliff were Tyler Wood 2, George McGowan and Pat Olief. Harwich and Parkeston A had a more comfortable win beating Colne Engaine 3-1.  2 goals from Sonny Cooper-Sutton and one from Graeme Butcher booked their spot in the Final on Boxing Day at Wivenhoe Town FC’s ground.

With the score at 1-1, Tollesbury scored three times in ten minutes to lead 4-1 at the break, seemingly coasting to victory.  However, the visitors hit back with three goals in 14 minutes after halftime to draw level at 4-4.  At that stage, it appeared, that Wimpole would go on to win but Tollesbury steadied the ship and pulled away again to win 6-4.  Jamie Baker, Jamie Bright 2, Tom Goodey and Justin Linton 2 getting the all important goals.

Colchester Athletic came unstuck against a revitalised AFC Informa losing 3-2 to goals from Simon Hilton, Dan Sliney and James Wiper.  Wimpole 2000 Reserves showed their first XI how to win when beating AXA 4-1.  Two here for Erduan Kurshumlija.  Brightlingsea Regent A beat University of Essex 4th XI 2-1.
