Marston: Sam Wharton (2),  Jake Cooper
Freeland : Craig Wood (pen)
Marston took revenge for their 6 – 0 thrashing a couple of weeks ago with a comprehensive victory over Freeland. The game started with a high pace but in large the opening exchanges were quite scrappy. Marston took the lead midway through the first half when Sam Wharton took the ball off the keeper and then stroked the ball in the empty net. HT 1 – 0
Freeland equalise on the hour mark from the penalty spot. Marston skipper John Hudson was penalised with a tackle on the Freeland forward when he was through on goal. Craig Wood placed the ball in the corner of the net pass the Marston goal keeper.
Moment later Marston spurned a glorious chance to regain the lead when Paddy Cope missed an open goal from two yards after good work down the left from Sam Bird. Cope blushes were sparred when the reliable Sam Wharton scored his and Marston’s second goal of the game with another neat finish after good set up play by Marston.
Wharton did spoil his night a little by blazing a 85th Minute penalty over the bar after the Freeland keeper had brought down Sam Bird in the area but the miss was not costly however,  as minutes later Jake Cooper secured the points with a composed finish after being set up by Paddy Cope.
Overall a good enjoyable game!
