Marston: Sam Wharton
Riverside: Luke Day, Ben Green, Carl Broomfield
Riverside eventually won the game after a tight contest at Marston. The home side start the brighter and dominated first half possession and chances. Marston took the lead when Sam Wharton found the back with a net finish pass the onrushing goalkeeper. The game then changed with a few minutes to go before half time when the referee sent off a Marston player after a couple of mistimed tackles.
The second half started with Riverside using their extra man advantage and they piled on the pressure on the Marston goal but the best chance of opening part of the second half fell to Marston. Sam Wharton forced his way pass the Riverside back three and shot across goal, this time the Riverside keeper managed to get a hand to the ball and push it pass the post.
Marston managed to hold out until 15 minutes to go, but then a cross from the left went all the way through to Luke Day who was coming in from the right wing and he volleyed the ball in the top right hand corner of the net. Moments later, Riverside were ahead, Ben Green chased down a long hopeful ball and rounded the Marston keeper and stroked the ball in the empty net. As the ten men of Marston pushed forward to find an equaliser, Riverside scored their third, a breakaway attach saw Carl Broomfield finish off a slick breakaway.
