Bourne Town  1    Long Buckby  5

Saturday, 22 August 2009

Bourne's unbeaten start to the season was left in tatters by the high scoring Buckby strikeforce which has now plundered seventeen goals in four league outings.

The Wakes were given an early warning when Courtney Herbert's shot was cleared off the line by Adam Jackson.

Richard Bunting gave the league leaders a sixth minute advantage and two goals in a minute late in the first half had the outcome settled at the break.

Dan Quigley scored the Bucks' second goal after 36 minutes with Herbert joining the spree 60 seconds later with a shot from the right side of the box.

Ian Dunn's speculative 40 yard effort forced Ollie Urquhart to tip over late in the first half.

Louis Pilgrim put his name on the scoresheet with Buckby's fourth, a volley from a right wing cross, three minutes into the second half.

Dunn netted a 55th minute Wakes consolation heading in at the near post from a corner but the pacesetters had the last word through Greg Ling's header from a Craig Kelly centre five minutes past the hour.
