Bletch: Callum Lloyd
OUP: Sam Wharton
This was a match which showed how much this league had improved this year. Both sides contributed to a fantastic match of a very high standard. OUP dominated first half and led through a lob after a defensive mix up from Sam Wharton. Bletchingdon changed tactics and formation at half time and a very determined performance came to fruition when lively full back Callum Lloyd’s powerful shot from 20 yards squirmed through the fingers of OUP goalkeeper Chris Hickin.
Bletchingdon’s Ben Foster missed three glorious chances and also struck the bar with a bullet header. The home sides magic forward Piers McGlynn was also pulled back when clean through and ten yards onside when he was about to score. Two other goals were ruled out for Bletchingdon and the visitors held on to clinch a point and could have won it in injury time when their penalty claims were waived away.
