St Neots Town  1    Daventry Town  0

Saturday, 01 May 2010

This clash of the Premier Division titans went St Neots' way as they completed a double over champions Daventry.

Jon Mitchell's eighteenth minute goal arrived after Luke McShane's long clearance was flicked on by Liam Harrold and ensured that the visitors would fall short of Rothwell Town's seasonal points record and also inflicted a first away defeat of the season upon them.

After the break both Liam Harrold and Dan Jacob smashed shots against the woodwork for St Neots.

A frustrated Daventry ended the game with ten men after Andy Gregory's dismissal for hauling down Mitchell as he ran clear.

St Neots: Luke McShane, Matt Haniver (Chris Hyem), Callum Earls, Lewis Webb, Glen Fuff, Jordan Gent, Danny French, Rob Hughes (Michael Hyem), Liam Harrold (Tony Scully), Jon Mitchell, Dan Jacob.

Daventry: Joe Mellings, Martin Hutchcox, Tommy Kinch (Jason Lee), Arron Parkinson, Andy Gregory, Paul Saunders, Ryan Howell, Adam Confue (Josh O'Grady), Tom Berwick, Russ Dunkley, Tom James (Josh Blake).
