Division One East
Bliby 2 Borden Village 3
Saturday, 18 September 2004
Borden still feeling down after last saturdays defeat by Betteshanger went to Bliby with a point to prove and manager Ian Knocker Williams drafted some of last seasons league winning side players back in to the team and this proved to be a good tactic as after 6 minutes Adam Featherstone shot from the half way line to net Bordens first after the Bliby keeper went on walkabout after 37 minutes Borden went 2 up after a Jamie Norris cross was well headed home by Mark Barker.
Bliby came out for the second half a different side and scored within the first minute due to a defensive error, 30 minutes later they netted their 2nd when their NO 9 left our defence wanting. Knocker Williams made some tactical changes and this held Bliby for the rest of the game until the last minute of the game when Borden's Tommy Price took a corner and after a goal mouth scurry Danny Marryott scored with virtually the last kick of the match.
Borden are at home next week in a home town derby with Milton Athletic in the Inter Regional Challenge Cup with a 2.15pm kick off.
