With Belvedere having lost last week their bouncebackability (see Soccer AM) was brought into question by the manager. So with this still in their minds the players duly went out and played the worst 45 mins for weeks! Rusthall took the lead with 5 mins remaining of the first half when an over hit through pass took a lucky deflection off Neil Rofy to leave a tap in for A.Austin.
A quiet word at half time had the desired effect and a much improved performance from Simon Smith provided the catalyst for a Dere's comeback. Tenacious tackling in the Dere's defence and a long clearence caught out the Rusthall's back line.Craig Scott latched onto this and lobbed the keeper to make it 1-1. Minutes later and man of the match Bradley Barrett made it 2-1 with a smashing drive into the roof of the net. Belvedere shored up the defence in the last 15 mins with the patient Greg Hodson going into the back line. A poor performance and a win, excellent!
