A late goal gave the Doughboys victory in this Kiln Park derby.
There were few chances in a closely contested first half which saw defences on top. Dan Grainger was narrowly off target with a low drive from the edge of the box for Wellingborough and Shopmates denutant keeper Richard Stainsby tipped over a fierce strike from Wayne Richardsdon.
Stainsby was again brought into action early in the second half tipping over a Ray Hackett header from a corner while at the other end a poor clearance by Shaun Markie in the Doughboys goal gave Simon Mowbray the glimmer of a chance before Paul Smith intervened to clear.
Tom Liversedge and Richardson were thwarted by Stainsby as Wellingborough continued to look the more dangerous side while Markie raced out of goal to beat Josh Kamau to a through ball.
Richardson finally broke the deadlock after 85 minutes, volleying in from a cross by substitute Dan Webster.
Another dismal evening ended on a low note for Raunds with Luke Tyler's dismissal.
