2009-2010 Season

Division One

Rushden & Higham United  1    Burton Park Wanderers  2

Saturday, 27 March 2010

After failing to win in their first nineteen games of the season Park Wanderers made it back to back wins under new manager Kevin Fox.

Rushden & Higham, without a win in nine games, hit the crossbar early on through Stefan Morris and took the lead on the half hour through Bamoussa Cisse who rounded the keeper to slot home, but missed a host of other openings.

Burton bounced back after the interval.

Substitute Wayne Brown hauled them on terms after 69 minutes, heading home unmarked and Simon Mitchell scored the decider with five minutes remaining, finding space on the left to convert from a free kick.

Burton are now just four points behind the Lankies with five matches in hand.
