Daventry Town  2    Stotfold  4

Saturday, 20 March 2010

Title favourites Daventry suffered their first reverse in nineteen games and only their second of the season as Stotfold sprung a Communications Park surprise.

Daventry took a third minute lead through Tom James' low shot into the corner, but within three minutes Josh Bickerstaff had put the visitors on terms with a 25 yard strike.

Louis Taylor put Stotfold in front after twenty minutes, springing the offside trap and scoring at the second attempt after Joe Mellings saved his first shot.

Paul Garrett added a third for the visitors eight minutes before the break, volleying in after Stuart Lochhead's shot was blocked.

Jason Lee hauled Daventry back into the game with a deflected shot from a corner after 78 minutes, but Stotfold clinched the win two minutes from time through George Brinkman who capitalised on Mellings' sliced clearance.
