First Round Qualifying
Blackstones 2 Hucknall Town 4
Saturday, 12 September 2009
Stones contributed to their own downfall as two own goals helped Unibond Premier outfit Hucknall avoid an upset at Lincoln Road.
Richard Jones was the first Stones man to score at the wrong end after seventeen minutes, turning a Terry Hawkridge cross from the right into his own net under pressure from two visiting forwards, but central defensive partner Darren Glover equalised with a header after 28 minutes.
The hero turned villain after 54 minutes when Glover scored past his own keeper Ian Flavell, and on the hour Tyiesse Nightingale gave Hucknall a two goal cushion.
Jon Stead put Stones back in the game after 63 minutes with a 20 yard drive, but a Flavell error allowed Hawkridge to seal the visitors' passage to the next round after 68 minutes.
Blackstones: Ian Flavell, Carl Bird, Kevin Ainslie, Darren Glover, Richard Jones, Matty Doyle, Dan Fountain (Elton Holmes), Chris Pippard (Elio Salerno), Adam Scotcher (Mark Jones), Richard Thompson, Jon Stead.
