Saturday, 13 March 2010

Town strengthened their position in the title race as rivals St Neots dropped home points.

Tom James gave Daventry a 27th minute advantage when his low free kick into the box deceived Nick Conroy but they were pegged back by a Paul Goodhand reply for the Poachers nine minutes later, the midfielder rounding off a stylish move involving Ollie Pinner and Gary Bull whose clever backheel set up the finish.

Adam Confue's 56th minute close range effort, a header from a James cross, took Daventry back to the top of the table.
