Huntingdon Town 0 AFC Kempston Rovers 1
Saturday, 12 September 2009
The Walnut Boys obtained revenge for an opening day Hillgrounds defeat by Huntingdon with victory in the Jubilee Park return.
The home side played for 78 minutes with ten men after Chris Brown's early dismissal, and Kempston took advantage to dominate possession while Town defended well to prevent the visitors creating many openings.
Defender Mark Bunker scored the Kempston winner ten minutes from time with a speculative ball into the box which keeper Dave Beeny and a visiting striker challenged for without getting a touch. Huntingdon appeals for a free kick for the challenge went unanswered as the Walnut Boys picked up their first points of the season.
