Saturday, 06 March 2010

United put poor recent form behind them to spring a cup surprise at Royal Oak Way.

A goalless first half saw Poachers keeper Nick Conroy in fine form saving well from Tommy Waldock on three occasions and then keeping out a 40th inute Liam Hynes spot kick.

Ben Jones gave the home side the lead six minutes after the restart, lobbing the ball over Conroy after running clear of the defence.

Nick Bailie added a 70th minute second after a speedy counter attack saw Waldock and Danny Finlay combine and with ten minutes remaining Tommy Waldock all but booked United's last four place, heading home after Conroy blocked his first effort.

Gary Bull scored an 82nd minute Boston consolation, firing home from twelve yards.
