Buckingham Town  7    Thrapston Town  7

Saturday, 22 March 2008

An unbelievable match at Ford Meadow saw a late Thrapston fightback earn a point.

Paul Dart gave the Robins the lead after three minutes only for Clive Collyer to level nine minutes later.

The home side regained the lead through Keith Newby after twenty minutes and further goals from top scorer Joel McCormick after 36 minutes and Reuben Max-Grant a minute before the interval had Buckingham in cruise control at half time.

Mark Redding scored Thrapston's second goal after 58 minutes but five minutes later McCormick scored his second of the afternoon.

Jamie O'Grady netted number six for Buckingham after 69 minutes before Collyer replied with a third Thrapston goal after 76 minutes.

With eleven minutes remaining McCormick completed his hat trick to give the Robins a four goal lead.

Redding reduced the deficit sixty seconds later but it seemed no more than a consolation as the minutes ticked away.

Lee Purser reduced the arrears to two goals on 88 minutes and incredibly a minute later Redding scored his third to set up a grandstand finish.

Purser salvaged a point for the visitors in the second minute of stoppage time.
