St Neots Town  5    Holbeach United  0

Saturday, 20 February 2010

With Daventry Town sidelined St Neots regained pole position by demolishing an out of sorts Tigers side which has now lost five in succession.

It might have been different had Holbeach taken early chances which fell to Craig Parker, Liam Nimmo and Alex Beck.

As St Neots came into the game Dan Jacob was thwarted by a goalline clearance from Lewis Brooks.

Tony Scully broke the deadlock after 24 minutes, fiing home a low shot from a Rob Hughes through ball.

Danny French added a second four minutes later, volleying in a Lewis Webb pass.

Jacob put the home side further in front two minutes before the interval, punishing Jon Fairweather's error.

The tally was completed after the break by Liam Harrold's fifteenth of the season after 71 minutes, a far post header from a Hughes corner, and a second of the aftermoon for Jacob a quarter of an hour from time after substitute James Peagram set up the chance.
