Deeping Rangers 5 Rushden & Higham United 0
Tuesday, 26 February 2008
Deeping moved into the last eight with a powerful second half display.
Division One strugglers Rushden & Higham held the Premier champions in a goalless first half, and a missed penalty by Michael Stevenson after five minutes of the second half added to the frustration.
Three goals in six minutes early in the second half saw Rangers take control though.
David Cobb broke the deadlock eight minutes into the second half, Stevenson doubled the lead with a looping header after 57 minutes and Danny Matson made it three a minute before the hour mark.
Matson scored his second goal after 69 minutes with a long range lob and Mark Kingston rounded off the scoring with a solo run four minutes from time.
