Holbeach United  3    Raunds Town  1

Saturday, 23 January 2010

The Shopmates had picked up ten points from their four previous Carters Park visits and must have been optimistic of another good result when Dave Townsend fired them in front with a spectacular overhead kick after five minutes.

With a quarter of an hour further played though, they were trailing. Top scorer Liam Nimmo equalised for the Tigers on ten minutes after Chris Jones in the Raunds goal parried a Caig Parker cross with Jason Sedlan putting the home side ahead after twenty minutes following good combination between Nimmo and Alex Beck.

Parker netted a third for Holbeach after 68 minutes, firing home from the edge of the box after Mark Thompson's shot was deflected to him, to confirm their first win in five.
