Launton: Lea White, Nick Allsworth,
Hinksey: Jerome McCalmon, Marlon James
Launton entertained Hinksey in our final game of their premier league campaign for 2011/12 season. Both teams traded chances for the first 30 minutes before Hinksey took the lead from a close range header by Jerome McCalmon from a Denel Thomas cross, Launton rallied well after half time and created the better chances, finally scoring through Lea white. White picked up the ball on the half way line and drove at the Hinksey defense before unleashing a unstoppable strike from 25 yards that found the top left hand corner.
This gave Launton the belief that they could get something from the champions and they continued to press for a 2nd. Mike Woodward broke the offside trap and rounded the on rushing keeper only for a Hinksey defender to make a great goal line clearance. More chances game and went before Launton sports substitute Nick Allsworth broke clear rounded the keeper and powered his shot into the empty net. With literally minutes to play it looked as though Launton would hold on for a dramatic and memorable victory but not for the first time they failed to hang on to the lead and Hinksey equalized through a goal from Marlon James who took the ball straight through the Launton defence unchallenged to make the full time score 2-2.
