Deeping Rangers  3    Blackstones  2

Tuesday, 27 December 2005

Deeping's late comeback earned them their second win of the holiday weekend and left them ten points clear of the relegation places, but it was another frustrating afternoon for Stones who led twice but ended the day with no reward. The returning Guy Last missed early chances for Deeping before Matty Doyle gave Blackstones the lead on the half hour, collecting a Jamie Gilsenan cross and scoring at the second attempt after striking the post with his first effort. Seven minutes before the interval Jarrod Smith put Rangers on terms, sliding in at the back post to score after Tuncay Korkmaz and Aaron Last combined. Stones prospect Dan Cotton restored his side's advantage after 73 minutes after Danny Bircham in the home goal failed to cut out a cross, but Rangers equalised for a second time with seven minutes remaining, Lovas Laszlo on target after creating the opening himself with a good piece of individual skill. John Paul Duncliffe gave Deeping all three points with a last minute decider which took a deflection on its way into the net after the Stones defence failed to clear a Dan Ruscillo free kick.
