Desborough Town 2 Deeping Rangers 2
Saturday, 02 February 2008
Two of the morning top three met at the Waterworks Field, but a draw did little for either side's title prospects.
Desborough looked set to avenge their earlier Outgang Road drubbing when they opened up two goal lead in the first half. Jamie O'Neill opened the scoring after 17 minutes after catching the visiting defence square with Jamie Gilsenan adding a second nine minutes later after rounding Danny Bircham in the Rangers goal.
Deeping skipper Lee Ellison put his side back in the match after 38 minutes with a great strike from 20 yards but the home side looked set for a vital win until the visitors were awarded an 83rd minute penalty for a foul on David Cobb and Michael Stevenson levelled from the spot.
