This derby success saw the Millers climb to second place in the Christmas Premier table and with four games in hand to make up the eight point gap on leaders Potton Spencer are well place for a new year push for honours. Top scorer Scott Coleman gave Spencer the lead after 11 minutes with his 22nd goal of the campaign, a penalty awarded after he was fouled by Motormen keeper Shaun Markie. Fords put up determined resistance with Ben Foster denied an equaliser by the woodwork, but after they were reduced to ten men the home side wrapped up their fourth win in five outings with an 84th minute own goal by Phil Murphy.
