St Ives halted their slide down the Premier Division table by completing a double over the Swans. In the first half Newport bossed the game and looked set to avenge their earlier Westwood Road reverse, but their domination was rewarded by just a single goal, scored by leading marksman Vinny Shrieves after just five minutes. In the first minute of the second half Jon Lee fed Liam Kennett whose cross found Craig Donaldson arriving on cue to equalise. Before Newport could recover they were behind, Stefan Lewis forcing an error from the home custodian enabling Graeme Thackray to score a 48th minute St Ives winner.
