Eynesbury Rovers  4    Raunds Town  1

Monday, 09 April 2012

After a drubbing on Easter Saturday Eynesbury bounced back to inflict one of their own on the struggling Shopmates who are now winless in nine.

Both sides missed chances in an end to end opening half.

Top scorer Lee Bassett made the breakthrough for Rovers after 40 minutes, cutting in from the right to shoot into the far corner after Ross West and Ben Cole set up the opening.

In the dying seconds of the first half Dan Woodhead doubled the home lead, heading in Rob Ducket's delivery from the right.

Tom Coles scored Eynesbury's third goal after 64 minutes with a half volley from just inside the box, and five minutes later West wrapped up the win, shooting into the roof of the net from a Bassett cross.

Dave Townsend scored a 72nd minutes consolation for Raunds with a superbly placed free kick into the top corner.

Shopmates comeback hopes were extinguished shortly afterwards as Darren Capps was dismissed for a second caution.
