The Flourmen extended their winning run to six games with this derby success at Hayden Road.
The Lankies took a fifth minute lead through Tyler Merries whose looping header from a Jory Mann cross beat Whitworth keeper Sam Foulser.
The prolific Jake Newman levelled for Whitworth after 21 minutes, rounding off an effective counter attack.
Deven Ellwood put the Flourmen ahead on the half hour, with Craig Patterson in the home goal getting a hand to his shot but unable to keep it out.
The visiting success was sealed by Dan Thompson six minutes into the second half.
