The Robins face an uphill task to reach the final but were far from disagraced in this defeat by the Puritans who play three levels higher.
Cory Lee found space to score the 39th minute goal which had Buckingham ahead at the interval.
Josh Northam levelled for Banbury from 12 yards after 53 minutes and the Puritans went ahead on the hour with a Dior Angus penalty after a foul on Joe Eyre.
Buckingham pressed for a leveller without reward.
Ben Polk added a third in the last minute after a right wing counter attack.
