Wellingborough Town 2004 0 Kings Lynn Town 5
Saturday, 31 March 2012
The league leaders stormed to an emphatic win at the Dog & Duck.
Wellingborough almost took the lead a couple of minutes in as Wayne Richardson smacked a 35 yard effort against the angle of post and bar.
Lynn had to show patience before Danny Beaumont made the 35th minute breakthrough, beating two defenders and netting with a low shot.
Four goals in the space of twelve second half minutes wrapped up the win.
Ex-Doughboys favourite Jason Turner inevitably featured among the marksmen with goals after 50 and 55 minutes which put the game beyond his old club. Jack Defty knockdowns set up both goals for Turner.
Defty made it four on the hour mark with a header from a Jamie Thurlbourne free kick and the scoring was completed two minutes later by Jamie Thurlbourne whose 25 yard free kick could only be helped in by Wellingborough keeper Danny Wallis.
