Four goal Jake Newman was the star of the show as the Flourmen embarked on a scoring spree.

He set the ball rolling with a second minute opener, but bottom of the table Rothwell competed well in the first half and Jordan Lever equalised after 25 minutes.

Newman restored the home advantage after 27 minutes and Dan Spaughton extended it five minutes later.

Newman completed his hat trick after 42 minutes, but Lever kept Rothwell in sight of their hosts with a second goal in the dying seconds of the first half.

Whitworth wrapped up the win on resumption with a Deven Ellwood goal on 49 minutes and Spaughton's second of the afternoon three minutes before the hour mark.

The scoring was completed by Newman seven minutes from time.
