Stewarts & Lloyds Corby 6 Sleaford Town 1
Tuesday, 01 December 2009
S&L's resurgence continued with this thrashing of a Sleaford side which had the worst possible preparation for Saturday's FA Vase encounter with Chertsey.
The Lincolnshire visitors ended their recent goal famine by taking an 18th minute lead through Kris Jones, who headed in a Tom Ward centre, but S&L top scorer Michael Byrne levelled two minutes later and a 22nd minute own goal by Sleaford keeper Andrew Scott gifted the home side the lead, the keeper dropping a cross over the line.
David Sheridan found the visiting net after 26 minutes to leave the Foundrymen well in control.
S&L doubled their tally with three more goals in the second half.
Byrne scored his second goal ten minutes after the restart, Chris Difante scored S&L's fifth with twenty minutes remaining and Shaun Davis had the last word after 81 minutes.
