Stotfold  3    St Ives Town  1

Tuesday, 22 November 2005

The Saints' seven match winning streak bit the dust at Roker as they found Stotfold on one of their better days. After a dull opening half devoid of chances Eagles' in form marksman Jason Blackett broke the deadlock five minutes before the interval. He was brought down by defender Dan Pilsworth inside the box, and after Aaron Bannie parried his spot kick, Blackett fired home from at the second attempt. Three minutes into the second period Will Fordham hauled St Ives on terms, converting Liam Kennett's flicked on corner. Blackett's second goal restored Stotfold's lead after 62 minutes after Richard Pringle flicked on Jermaine Daley's free kick and he made it five goals in two games with his hat trick goal ten minutes from time, pouncing to score after Bannie had parried a header from Eagles debutant Daron Dykes.
