Burton remain anchored to the foot of the table after Star ran out comfortable winners at Latimer Park.
Steve Phillips, who had earlier been denied by a goalline clearance, opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 34 minutes following a foul on Eddie Patten, and the visitors wrapped up their win after the interval.
Burton had the ball in the net just before the hour mark only to be denied by the offside flag. Karl Gibbs scored Star's second goal after 67 minutes with a rasping left foot drive and the win was sealed by Phillips, who climbed to his feet to score his second penalty nine minutes later to kill off the home challenge.
