Deeping Rangers 7 Bourne Town 0
Tuesday, 11 December 2007
Deeping made light of the absence of key strikers and also banished the Manager of the Month jinx, following up the pre match presentation of Tuncay Korkmaz's November award by handing their neighbours a drubbing.
It took just three minutes for Andy Ellis to fire the champions in front with a shot under keeper Aaron Bellairs, and they took a stranglehold on the game with two quick goals in the middle of the half. David Cobb scored Rangers' second goal after 22 minutes, netting at the second attempt after his first shot was saved, with skipper Lee Ellison putting his name on the scoresheet four minutes later with a close range shot off the post.
Former Wakes man Michael Stevenson put his name on the scoresheet three minutes before the interval after latching on to Ellison's flick over the defence.
On the hour Stevenson netted his second goal of the night with a free kick from the edge of the box, Cobb followed suit after 74 minutes after intercepting John Currall's back pass and Ellis became the evening's third two goal marksman with a left footed shot in the final minute.
