Consistent Vase performers St Ives made club history as they dismantled fancied Gresley to reach the last eight of the national competition for the first time.

Jordi Gough's goalline clearance denied Conor Washington an early opener while at the other end Royce Turville was flagged offside after netting for St Ives.

Two goals in the space of a minute opened the doors for the Saints.

Lee Ellison struck the first blow for St Ives with a 25th minute opener, heading in Jamie Alsop's cross at the far post.

A minute later Conor Washington doubled the home lead, converting a through ball.

Gresley's prospects of a comeback were dashed by the sending off of Danny Holmes late in the half.

The woodwork denied Ozie Foster on resumption.

When Washington struck his second with a scrambled effort three minutes past the hour the outcome was settled.

The visitors had James Jepson players dismissed before Scott Fielding completed the scoring from a Grant Robbins centre three minutes from time.
