Long Buckby  2    Cogenhoe United  0

Tuesday, 24 April 2012

Buckby overcame spirited resistance from local rivals Cogenhoe and now need just a point from Saturday's final match at home to Blackstones to claim their first Premier Division crown.

Russ Dunkley struck the crossbar for Buckby early in the game.

Buckby missed the chance to take a first half lead following a foul on Fazel Koriya as Richard Bunting fired the 21st minute spot kick against the crossbar.

The nerves were settled quickly on resumption as Josh Davis put the Bucks into a 48th minute lead, following up to score after Matt Finlay in the Cooks goal parried Dunkley's free kick.

Three minutes later leading marksmen Dunkley added a second, heading in a Koriya cross to all but end the contest.
