Northampton Spencer  1    Deeping Rangers  3

Saturday, 21 April 2012

Deeping maintained their pursuit of a top four finish with this Kingsthorpe Mill success and are now unbeaten in 16 games.

The first half was totally dominated by the visitors who took a 20th minute lead when Ash Stevens swept in a Matt Heron pass.

A rare home attack on the half hour brought the Millers an equaliser. Joe Power's shot was blocked but Paul Pickering followed up to scramble the ball home.

Spencer had more of the game in the second period, but were sunk by two goals in the space of four minutes.

Josh Moreman's cross shot restored the Rangers advantage after 67 minutes and a well taken solo effort by sub Kevin Brader sealed the win after 71 minutes.

David Burton-Jones' goalline clearance denied Pickering a stoppage time consolation for Spencer.
