Blackstones  1    Long Buckby  11

Wednesday, 18 April 2012

A stunning Buckby display moved them to within three points of Kings Lynn with a match in hand, and the magnitude of this victory gave the Bucks the advantage on the goal difference front.

It took just three minutes for the Bucks to go ahead with Greg Ling's low drive into the corner from 25 yards.

The lead was doubled after ten minutes, Russ Dunkley's header teeing up Fazel Koriya for a close range shot which squirmed under keeper Jody Vincent.

A solo effort from Simon Mowbray gave Stones their goal after 13 minutes, the striker showing a posse of defenders a clean pair of heels before netting with a low shot.

After 22 minutes Buckby added a third with Dunkley shrugging off his marker and crossing for Koriya to fire into the roof of the net.

With ten minutes remaining in the first half Dunkley rose highes to to head in a Josh Davis corner, and a minute before the break Dunkley and Koriya combined to set up Dan Quigley whose low shot went in off the post.

Buckby were even more relentless on resumption.

They made it six after 47 minutes. Vincent spilled Ling's free kick and Dunkley slammed the loose ball into the net.

Number seven arrived four minutes later with Koriya completing his hat trick by lobbing home from 30 yards from a first time pass by Davis.

Davis got on the scoresheet himself after 55 minutes, beating three defenders before slotting home.

Stuart Smeathers joined the spree four minutes past the hour, stabbing home a low Ling corner from the right which kicked up off the wet turf.

A minute later Ling's cross shot into the far corner took the Buckby tally into double figures.

Ling completed his hat trick after 67 minutes with a stunning 30 yard strike.
