Northampton Sileby Rangers  1    Eynesbury Rovers  2

Saturday, 08 September 2012

Eynesbury sprang a surprise with this Fernie Fields success as Rangers suffered their first defeat of the season.

James Freshwater maintained his record of scoring in every game with the 19th minute opener for Rovers, direct from a free kick awarded for a foul on Lee Bassett.

Both sides had chances in an even contest.

With twenty minutes to play Ben Cole doubled Eynesbury's advantage, heading in a Freshwater corner.

All Sileby could manage in reply was a 76th minute debut goal from Rob Foster, who lobbed keeper Andrew Wale after latching onto a through ball.

Kevin Slinn had a late chance to earn Sileby a point but headed wide from six yards.
