Ten man Star inflicted a first league defeat on Holbeach since the season's opening day.

Two goals late in the first half proved decisive.

Karl Gibbs put the visitors ahead in the 45th minute with a header from a Nathan Horne cross and then turned provider setting up Jon Stead's seventh goal of the season two minutes into time added to double Star's advantage.

Ashley Stevens and Luke Kennedy went close to reducing the deficit on resumption.

Ashley Stevens scored an 84th minute Tigers consolation with a header from a Paul Goodhand free kick.

Star had Jimmy Dean dismissed with a quarter of an hour to play.
