Long Buckby  4    Thrapston Town  0

Saturday, 17 March 2012

Buckby made inroads into Kings Lynn's superior goal difference with this convincing win over a Thrapston side now occupying the Premier's basement slot.

The title chasers pressed from the off and squandered a great chance to take the lad ten minutes in. A foul on Richard Bunting saw a penalty awarded but Dan Quigley's kick was saved by Dan Waters in the Thrapston goal.

It took until eight minutes before the break for Russ Dunkley to make the Buckby breakthrough. Dunkley and Hewitt were denied by the woodwork in the same attack, but from the resulting corner taken by Josh Davis Dunkley headed home.

Dunkley doubled his tally seven minutes into the second half, firing home a low left footed shot from Craig Kelly's through ball.

Greg Ling scored the Bucks third, firing home a powerful shot after taking a return pass from Dunkley after eighty minutes and he scored again two minutes into stoppage time after Dunkley and Fazel Koriya had opened up the Thrapston defence.
