Cogenhoe United  3    Peterborough Northern Star  1

Saturday, 17 December 2011

Star's slump continued as they suffered a fifth successive league defeat.

Cogenhoe's visit to Chestnut Avenue started the rot for the former leaders, and the Cooks repeated their earlier success in this Compton Park return.

Perri Wells put the Cooks on their way from 18 yards after thirteen minutes, with Curtis Avery doubling the home lead just three minutes later.

A 59th minute Karl Bates goal all but secured Cogenhoe's victory.

Luke McShane in the Star goal made a number of good saves to deny the home attack further goals.

Jon Stead scored an 87th minute Star consolation from the penalty spot.
